WHY
On the occasion of Davide Balliano’s solo exhibition at MARCA Museum in Catanzaro, Italy, he wanted to create a book to showcase his body of work
to date.
WHATIF
Graphic, geometric, meditative — and by all accounts stunning — Davide Balliano’s work is collected in this art book, along with a conversation between Balliano and Whitney Museum’s curator Chrissie Iles, and a critical essay by Luigi Fassi, artistic director of the MAN – Contemporary Art Museum in Nuoro, Italy. Published by the excellent Cura.Books, printed in Italy, and clocking in at over 200 pages, the book uses a mixture of coated and uncoated papers to bring a tactility that supports Balliano’s work.
Building Body was a winner in the 2019 AIGA 50 Books | 50 Covers design competition in the 50 Book category.
